DIRECT CREMATION

A direct cremation is an unattended cremation with no formal service. There are many reasons why this might feel like the right choice.

At Compassionate Funerals we offer additional services at no extra cost – including having a say about the date of the cremation, and having time with your loved one in our friends and family room.

Direct Cremation with Compassion

Our direct cremation fee is fully inclusive. There are no hidden fees or extras.

INCLUDED:

Having a meeting with you to discuss the arrangements
Making the arrangements and preparing the necessary paperwork
Cremation fee (our direct cremations take place at Manor Park)
A simple jute coffin
The opportunity to choose the date of the cremation
The opportunity to provide clothing for your loved one to be dressed in, or items to place with them in their coffin
The opportunity to have some time with your loved one in our family and friends room

£1,900 - all inclusive

Holding a Service at Compassionate

For some people, a smaller intimate gathering feels right. In these cases the crematorium chapel may feel too big and doesn’t allow much flexibility. Holding a service at Compassionate Funerals allows you to take your time and truly make the service your own.

Here are just some of the options and ideas:

Having a celebrant or priest conduct the service, or conduct it yourselves
Lighting candles for your person (most crematoriums do not allow real candles in their chapels)
Having a cup of tea and slice of cake together after the service, or even a glass of bubbly
Making a playlist of the persons favourite songs to listen to while you share memories and look through old photo albums
Bringing flowers from your garden to place on the coffin
Sitting together to write letters for the person who has died, and placing them on/in their coffin

Additional fee - £200 plus chair hire (from £60 - £100 depending on number of chairs)
